It's been said...Upper Management Effort Really Does Burn Up Calories!

Contrary to popular belief, management people and high level executives do burn up a lot of calories despite the sedentary nature of their positions and the fact that some of them never look like they're doing anything really productive.

The following chart, compiled from studies by reliable and authoritative medical sources, lists typical management activities and the number of calories consumed by each.

    Tooting your horn 25
    Beating around the bush 75
    Jumping to conclusion 100
    Climbing the wall 150
    Swallowing your pride 50
    Passing the buck 25
    Throwing your weight around
(depending on your weight) 50 to 300
    Dragging your heels 100
    Pushing your luck 250
    Making mountains out of
    molehills 500
Adding fuel to the fire 150
Hitting the nail on the head 50
    Wading through paperwork 300
    Jumping on the bandwagon 200
    Running around in circles 350
Climbing the ladder to success 750
Wrapping it up at day's end 12

    "MY QUIET FRIEND"

    You've always been there
    In good times and bad
    You let me be happy
    You let me be sad

    You never complained
    When I came home late
    You didn't ask questions
    You'd stay there and wait

    You didn't ask for much
    Just water and food
    You never complained
    Or had a bad mood

    You'd stay by the window
    And not say a thing
    No talks of tomorrow
    Or what it may bring

    I think of leaving
    But I know I just can't
    Who'd take care of you
    For you're just a plant
