How'd He Get That Nickname?

André J. "Frenchy" Rheault was born and raised in the French-Canadian community of Biddeford, Maine. He entered the Air Force in 1965 right after high school. It was then that he got the nickname that has become his "real" name. People he met in the service who were unfamiliar with French had trouble understanding that Rheault was pronounced "row" and he eventually accepted the pronunciation of "ree'-alt". He found it was easiest of all however to just be "Frenchy" and, indeed, nobody does it better!

American Lawn Mower Company, the largest producer of push reel mowers operating in the United States, is a family-owned business with manufacturing facilities in Shelbyville, In. and administrative offices in Muncie, In.

In the Beginning

The company was founded in 1895 by the family of Robert B. Kersey, the grandfather of the company's current president. The original facility was in Richmond, In. The company moved to Muncie, In. in 1901.

Robertson Lawn Care has received national recognition as one of the TOP 10 best and most progressive lawn care companies in North America.  Criteria for this award, sponsored by LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT magazine, included quality of customer service and national recognition.
