Since the leaf blower was introduced into the lawn care business, more and more professional gardeners, as well as others, are utilizing it for it's efficientcy.

Today, the leaf blower is one of our most important pieces of equipment. It has gained very prominent attention due to the way it is often misused. From this, many of the "public at large" have given much unfavorable judgement, due to dust and creation ofLeaf blower lawn care tips book noise beyond normal working sound.

The worst part of the whole matter is that irresponsible gardeners and their helpers blow the debris (leaves, grass cuttings, etc.) into the neighbor's yard and also into the streets without picking them up.

That is the primary area of complaints. In the past, a few cities expressed their concern about the leaf blower. The City of Beverly Hills, CA came up with an ordinance to ban the use of the blower without the input of professionals who work in the city. The City of Orange, CA was studying the use of the blower, but they have not yet adopted any ordinance.

The city of Newport Beach, CA was about to impose an ordinance when a letter writing campaign was initiated, which was well in excess of 2000, from the Orange County Gardeners' Association and the Southern California Gardeners' Federation, Inc., to the city to reconsider the banning proposal of leaf Blowers.

In collaboration with the Blower Distributors of Southern California and the Southern California Gardeners' Federation, Inc., the Leaf blower lawn care tips bookfollowing guideline is recommended to all the users of leaf blowers:

TIME OF DAY: Never commence use before 7:00 am. Exception, Saturday & Sunday 9:00 am or later.

NOISE: Try to operate with the least amount of noise by running at the lowest speed possible to do the job. Never run at maximum speed unless it is absolutely necessary and only for a short duration. Also, under NO circumstances operate without a proper muffler.

DUST: Always observe the direction of the wind when operating the blower, and also check for open doors and windows, including your neighbors. Also, if possible, use the mist attachment to minimize dust.

As a responsible citizen and business person, we hope you will be very cautious, so that complaints will not be triggered. As a very time saving piece of equipment, gardeners do not want to be deprived of its use.

It is highly suggested that the above "guideline" be observed by all leaf blower users, whether professional or non-professional, since the consequence, if adopted, will affect us all.

This guideline was furnished through the cooperation of the following firms: TAS Motor Co.,Star Garden, Miyamura Trading Co., Tru-Cut, Inc., Toro Pacific Dist., Maruyama, and Southern California Gardeners' Federation, Inc.
